Baku Olympic Stadium was founded in 2011 and it started functioning on March 18, 2015. The stadium constructed in an area of approximately 50 hectares, with the height of 62 meters, consists of 6 floors. The pitch has 4 and the stands have 26 entrance gates. The stadium with the capacity of 68,000 seats is designed in accordance with Olympic standards to ensure easy access of spectators by public transport and on foot.

Baku Olympic Stadium (Azerbaijani: Bakı Olimpiya Stadionu), is a 68,700-seat stadium,[1] designed and constructed to meet the international standards for stadiums set by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It is the largest stadium in Azerbaijan. Construction of the 225,000-square-meter stadium on a 650,000-square-meter site was completed in February 2015. The six-storey, 65.7 meter structure near Boyukshor Lake, Baku, Azerbaijan, opened on 6 March 2015.[2] The main tenant of the stadium is Azerbaijan's national football team, who moved from their previous home at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium. In June 2015 the stadium served as the main venue for the European Games, hosting the opening and closing ceremonies, and the athletic games. Baku Olympic Stadium is a 68,700-seat stadium designed and constructed to meet the international standards for stadiums set by the FIFA, UEFA, IAAF and ESSMA. The stadium was awarded 7th best stadium in the world for statistics of StadiumDB. BOS hosted 1st European Games, 4th Islamic Solidarity Games, UEFA U-17 EURO 2016 and Qarabag FC’s UEFA Champions League matches. As the biggest stadium of region, Baku Olympic Stadium will host UEFA Europe League 2019 final and 3 group and ¼ final stage matches of UEFA EURO 2020.
